You Are Already Naked

Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” – Steve Jobs 2/24/55-10/5/11
This quote was floating around Facebook the day after Jobs died. It really got me to thinking, as it should you. Go ahead; read it again, I’ll wait.
It prompted me to write the following…
We are always in the process of defining ourselves. As life progresses and things change our focus and passions shift. It’s natural and unavoidable. And, this has occurred for me too.
I get for myself that I have always been one who has wanted to help others, to be there for them, to lift them to the next rung on their ladder. My true intention though has had other thoughts. The true intention is the hidden one, the unspoken intention that really controls. But, with persistence and determination I am merging the two, my stated intention and my true intention are becoming one. I can feel it and it touch, moves and inspires me.
It is that feeling I am called to share, to coach with those willing to look within for their purpose, their power and their true passion so they can experience the intensity, the aliveness for themselves.
Jobs said, “You are already naked.” We are already exposed; there is nothing to hide, nothing to hide from, nothing to fear.
Carry that thought with you always, the next time you hesitate, the next time you question. Hold on to that notion because it will remind you each time you feel uncertain to press onward.
