How many people do you know who say they are “stuck in a job?” Are asking “how to start my own business?” Say they want to “be my own boss?” but don’t know how to go about making it happen. How many people do you know who say they are trapped by their circumstances, bound by obligation? I’d be willing to bet none of them are very happy or much fun to be around.
It’s ALL a matter of choice.
I fully and totally believe that choice is an inalienable right granted to all by the Creator and the key to personal freedom and financial independence. Without choice we are trapped, we are blocked from something that is a totally human trait. Without choice there can be no will. Without will there can be no freedom.
Now, why go on and on about choice? How does it relate to being called Inspiring Transitions and all those dissatisfied people “stuck” in their jobs? If you are one of those people you may think mistakenly that you are pinned downed by your work situation and career. Maybe you feel hemmed in by people or circumstances or situations.
The truth is nothing and no one has any control over your ability to choose. Armed with the knowledge of choice, thoughts of limitations are easily overthrown. You can then be moved and inspired into positive, life altering action.
Once the notion of choice has been established the bonds of restrictive thought can be broken. You are now free to transition into a life of which dreams are made. Thoughts of lack become thoughts of abundance. Thoughts of frustration become thoughts of achievement. The mindless and meaningless effort of the past now transitions into the purpose, power and passion of the present. Life takes on new value, new meaning, filled with great joy and happiness.
Inspiring Transitions supports people as they begin to see new and differing points of view. Perceptions alter and visions become attainable. No longer do limiting conversations dominate. New vistas open, new realms of possibility take shape in reality. Clarity and focus lead the way. And, that’s exactly what we’re up to at Inspiring Transitions.
If we can reach just one person, show them they have the ability to choose a more empowering, fulfilling and satisfying path, then creating Inspiring Transitions was worth the effort. But, we’re not going to settle for just one. We have much bigger plans.
Is there anything you can do to help? Of course there is. Ask yourself this, “Who do I know who is feeling stuck, unable to break free to enjoy the abundance of Nature’s bounty?” Look around you to see who is cloaking their pain under a happy mask. You could pass this message along to them. You just never know what a difference you could make in another’s life, what chain you could help break by sharing.
And, in the end, isn’t that what we’re all here for?

Thank you for a great article, Rick. What you are saying is so very true about our lives. Sometimes I think choice should be a Super Power rather than just a regular power. The idea that everyone does have control over their lives is powerful. Its the truth and for some reason, we are rarely taught that we do have this kind of power as we are growing up. But when we learn it later in life, perhaps, it is then that we device even more pleasure and satisfaction form the knowledge that we are in control of our lives.
This is powerful stuff, you have written, my friend. Thank you for sharing it.

Michael,
Appreciate you stopping by and leaving your thoughts. As I was writing this post I realized that EVERYTHING we do that is not part of the autonomic nervous system is under our control and a matter of choice. That’s just huge! It IS a SUPER powerful concept!
Thanks,

Excellent message Rick – with each choice we make we are designing our futures. It’s so important to become aware of that and learn to be more intentional in our choices in life. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Rick
It’s really wierd that I am reading this tonight. I just sent out an email to my list and the subject line said “You have the Power, you always have a choice.” It was about evaluating your life and if you are satisfied with the state of your checkbook, your health, time freedom etc. Amazing syncronicity!

We have to power top change anything in our lives. It is merely making a choice, changing your mindset and actually going forth to execute the change. People make it a lot harder than it really seems.

Melodie,
In the Passion Test we say Intention, Attention, No Tension. Putting Attention on your Intention and leaving the how up to the powers that be eliminates the tension. It’s all in our capable hands to choose.

To have a choice is a beautiful thing. Exposure to new paradigms, successful people, and the power of hope are the rocket fuel behind the rocket of personal choices. Once we Decide and Commit to our new possibilities, all that’s left is hard and smart work. And having someone who’s gone on before us as our coach can break down the barriers of reluctance to pressing forward once we’ve made our choice.

Rick,
We do have choices. Sometimes we make an overriding choice, like providing for our family, and even though we want to pursue other activities we have chosen to focus on our primary goal first. The key is to find a way to satisfy that overriding choice by being involved in work or business that we love, that enlivens us and brings us satisfaction.

Dr. E,
I agree and think there is always a way to meld the necessities in life with what you want in life. If one digs deep enough they will find the happy convergence.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Rick,
) so we just make the right choices, take action and stop blaming others…
Everything is a matter of choice in life but we usually want to blame everyone else but ourselves if something is wrong in our life. The only one who can change our life is ourselves (maybe lottery too

Kostas,
Too funny. I buy a ticket or two every week. You can’t win unless you play. LOL!
People do play the blame game and gets them nowhere in the end. I like the quote of 10 two letter words, “If it is to be it is up to me!”

Hello Rick,
I appreciate you stopping by my blog and leaving a comment:-)
This is a mantra that my children heard over and over again: life is about choices, don’t play the blame game. One of my sons, he was probably nine, said to me, that’s not true we don’t choose to breathe and I said to my adorable son “yes we do have a choice, we breathe because we want to live and when we don’t we find away to stop breathing.” He looked at me as if I was dumb… as he got older, he understood the meaning behind those words and it has influenced how he lives his life.

Adalia,
Back at ya! I enjoyed your site. I’m glad your son understood your words. I can just see his face when you told him he absolutely had a choice to breathe. LOL Good chuckle. They are lucky children to have you as a wise mom.
